ABOUT ARROW

WHO ARE WE

Arrow was founded in 1992 by a child formerly in foster care. He grew up in a loving, Christian foster home. Today, we strive to give every child in foster care that same opportunity.

Because of the principles Arrow was founded on, we hold ourselves, our employees, and the families we serve to a higher standard of excellence. If you want to know you're truly making a difference by helping kids and strengthening families, we have a place for you!

OUR MISSION

Helping Kids & Strengthening Families!

All of our programs revolve around efforts and initiatives aimed at supporting children and improving the well-being of families.

OUR VISION

Arrow will become the preferred Christian provider of child welfare and educational services connecting church and government to serve vulnerable children and families.

WHAT WE DO

We serve children entering foster care by recruiting, training, licensing, and supporting foster families. The goal is to transition these children back into a healthy environment with their biological families. Or, if that is not possible, provide a safe, nurturing home from which they can launch into a successful adulthood.

Our mission has always been about creating programs and services that would help kids and strengthen families who were impacted by the child welfare system. We’ve realized there are many more children and families in our community who are not part of child welfare but are still dealing with many of the same issues. We’ve made services of our current programs, like our professional staff and licensed therapist, available to other qualifying children and families in our community.

Healthy adults often have several common denominators, including an education, solid practical life skills, emotional intelligence, social skills, and role models, to lead the way. Most foster children have few of these and are not prepared to make the transition into adulthood. Therefore, acquiring these skills is even more important for youth in the foster care system, including those at Arrow’s Crossroads Community, our transitional living program serving young women preparing for adulthood.

Arrow Center for Education Schools meet every child where they are as learners, academically, socially, and functionally, we make change through defined best practice and the building of invaluable relationships. All our efforts are focused on assisting the children we serve to realize their best potential by removing barriers, creating opportunities, building skills, and nourishing their individual gifts.

Arrow Health Solutions was created by Arrow for two purposes… to simplify and improve Durable Medical Equipment services to families and to enhance and advance Arrow’s programs serving children in need and at-risk families across the country. AHS donates 100% of its profit to Arrow.

Our BHS objective is to come alongside caregivers and children to help fill their toolbox with new, highly adaptive coping skills. We refer to these as “cognitive” coping skills. Children often behave the way they do because they don’t know how to respond any other way. As a member of our BHS team, your efforts are focused on helping children both learn and follow new, specific, cognitive steps that allow them to get their needs met without resorting to the use of familiar maladaptive emotionally driven coping skills.
